Ordinary Time
Time cannot be turned back. That is why it is necessary to evaluate if you are making the most of every moment God allows you to have. Stop and see if you are enjoying everything God has prepared for you and if what you do leads you to be a witness of God’s glory!
Jesus replied, “It isn’t for you to know the times or seasons that the Father has set by his own authority. Rather, you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Acts 1:7-8
The Christian life often seems uncertain. The reality is that we cannot know everything. There are moments that the only thing left for us to do is to trust totally in the Lord, in God’s word, and rest. The disciples were curious about the moment of the reestablishment of the kingdom, and Jesus answers them by saying, in other words, “it is not for you to know everything.”
Although it was not the answer his disciples were expecting, Jesus had something better. He announces to them about the task that awaited them once the Holy Spirit came upon them. It was not just any task, it was to be his witnesses wherever they went. Even if you don’t have the answers to all your questions today, you do have the Holy Spirit to enable you to fulfill the Lord’s call to be Christ’s witness wherever you go.

Question to Ponder:
How can you rest in God this week?
Holy Spirit, help me to fulfill my commission to be a witness wherever I go. I desire to be your instrument so that through me others may know of your love, grace, and mercy. Amen.
Dare to testify to the great things God has done in you. Every day is a new opportunity to see God’s glory manifested in every detail of your life. You are a perfect work in God’s hands!
