“I have glorified you on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do. Now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I shared with you before the world was created.”

Think

Just like Jesus, God gives us gifts and calls each of us to our own ministry in the world. God has work for us to do; we are co-creators in bringing about God’s justice in the world and making real the Kingdom of God. Jesus is our example in this – his whole life was a testament to God.

One way that we can glorify God is by naming and developing the gifts we have been given. Then, we are called to put these gifts to use in sharing the Good News of God’s love in every aspect of our lives – whether work or play. This is our life’s purpose – to live fully into our authentic selves just as God created us. When we do so, we glorify God.

Pray

Guiding God, you have given me gifts to do your work in the world. Help me to discern who you are calling me to be and guide me towards that which will show forth your love. You are present and loving. Amen.
