Everyone needs to be reminded that God creates us with a calling for each of our lives. Everyone is given gifts that need to be shared with the world.

You can be an agent of change in our world. You can empower anyone, no matter what age, to make a change in their life and to follow God’s call.

Listen

Put these things into practice, devote yourself to them, so that all may see your progress. Pay close attention to yourself and to your teaching; continue in these things, for in doing this you will save both yourself and your hearers.

1 Timothy 4:15-16

Think

You know Nike’s slogan – “Just do it!” In fact, this catchphrase has been identified as one of the most successful and recognized slogans ever. Millions may know and recognize it, but do we really heed the advice?

In today’s passage, Timothy is given the same advice. He is reminded that he knows what to do. The instructions are simple. Timothy is told to “Put these things into practice.” Just do it! Many of us have listened to more than our share of sermons and Bible studies. Our problem is seldom that we do not know what God wants us to do. We have already heard it. We just need to begin doing what we have learned.

You have probably attended summer camps, retreats, and other church events this summer. What have you learned? How have you heard God? What must you do now? It’s simple – “Just do it!”

Pray

God, you have taught me, challenged me, and helped me to better understand you. Give me the courage to do what I know you want me to do today. Help me to finally live and serve the way you have taught me. May I simply “do it” today! Amen.

Go

It is easy to feel that we are not inspirational to others. However, each day we are empowered by the Holy Spirit to be agents of inspiration and change in the lives of others. How have you been empowered by the Holy Spirit to inspire someone else? How can you make a difference in the world today?

You have the gifts, the ability and the Spirit of the Living God to inspire others.

Go! Be! Inspire!
