“In diversity there is beauty and there is strength.” (Maya Angelou)

We are called to join the story of God’s people – a story of beauty and strength.

Listen

Two are better than one because they have a good return for their hard work. If either should fall, one can pick up the other. But how miserable are those who fall and don’t have a companion to help them up!

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

Think

If you have ever been packing up before a big move, you know how stressful it can feel to have all your belongings laid out before you and a limited amount of time to pack it up in boxes. You think to yourself, “How am I going to get all of this done in time? I wish I hadn’t waited until now to start!” In these situations, there is no better help than a friend or family member who comes over to lend a hand. In a few hours, you get more done together than you would have in a whole day alone.

It’s nice to have someone to help you out, but we must recognize that not everyone has the resources to ask for or receive help. Supporting one another also means that we look out for the people who do not have the same resources we do and share what we have! We join God’s story when we work together as one body to support and love one another.

Pray

God, help me to recognize that not everyone has the same access to resources. Give me courage and discernment to address these inequalities to make sure that everyone has a companion to help them up when they fall. Amen.

Go

We are here to help each other
Walk the mile and bear the load.
