Following the Star

Pause

Breathe. Take in some deep grounding breaths. Pull your shoulders back, feel the ground beneath you. Once you have settled, take one more deep breath saying or thinking:

INHALE: Holding on to joy doesn’t mean I am always happy.

EXHALE: It means I will not be overcome by despair.

Listen

Sing to the Lord, who has done glorious things; proclaim this throughout all the earth. Shout and sing for joy, city of Zion, because the holy one of Israel is great among you.

Isaiah 12:5-6

Think

As we journey toward Bethlehem and the celebration of Christ living among us, take a moment to reflect: what has been glorious about your journey so far? How has your faith deepened your understanding of love, hope, joy, and peace? These gifts are central to the Advent season, inviting us to recognize the ways God’s presence shapes our lives.

Throughout history, songs have been a profound way to express the depth of human emotion. From the psalms of David to Mary’s Magnificat, music has echoed the praises, struggles, and hopes of God’s people. Today, consider choosing a song that reflects the faith you treasure, a melody that captures the glory of your journey with Christ. Let it be a reminder of the hope and joy the season brings. Share this song with someone you love, along with the reasons it resonates with you. In doing so, you can spark a moment of connection and celebrate the beauty of faith together.

Question to Ponder:

What have you enjoyed about your faith journey?

Pray

God of our voices, thank you for the gift of song. Thank you for the ways your love has expanded my understanding of what is possible. Help me to be intentional about sharing my stories of faith with those I encounter. Amen.

Go

You are the God of justice

You are the God who sees

You are the God who heals and

Who loves the world through me

We believe our love can change things

We will not live silently

You are the God of justice

You are the God who sees

You oh Lord are with us

We will not be afraid
