Ordinary Time
Take a deep breath in, consider all the things that are weighing on you today.
As you breathe out, imagine breathing out all the stress and anxiety.
Breathe in again. Imagine breathing in the love of God.
Exhale and imagine sharing that love.
“Give thanks to the Lord because he is good, because his faithful love lasts forever!” That’s what those who are redeemed by the Lord say, the ones God redeemed from the power of their enemies, the ones God gathered from various countries, from east and west, north and south.
Some of the redeemed had wandered into the desert, into the wasteland. They couldn’t find their way to a city or town.
Psalm 107:1-4
Have you ever gotten lost? Have you ever walked into a dark room, and you could not see where to step next because it was so dark?
This Psalm is a reminder that there will be things that happen in life that we cannot control and things we cannot fix on our own.
There will be times when we feel like we are surrounded by our enemies.
There will be times when we feel like we do not belong at home, in school, or even in our own skin.
There will be times when we feel like we are just wandering in the desert, into a wasteland with no destination in sight.
There will be times when life pushes us into a dark room, and we cannot see the next steps, and it is in these moments Psalm 107 reminds us that we do not have to do it on our own. God is good, even in the darkest of places. God’s faithful love lasts forever. We may not always see God or feel God, but if we reach out, God’s love is always there.

Question to Ponder:
When you struggled with a situation you could not control or fix on your own, who did you talk to or what did you do?
Ever-Faithful God, thank you for your faithfulness.
Help me remember that even in the most difficult times, you are there.
Help me to see others who might be going through difficult times and show them your love.
Amen.
As you go, take moments throughout the day to stop and breathe in the love of God.
Then breathe out God’s love on those around you.
