Journey to the Cross

Pause

Be still.

Inhale a breath of love and know that God is very near.

Listen

And God raised us up and seated us in the heavens with Christ Jesus. God did this to show future generations the greatness of his grace by the goodness that God has shown us in Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 2:6-7

Think

I remember surviving a severe storm with my mother. We had no power. We were up most of the night with my father, who was very sick. The next morning, we were both exhausted, and I was grumpy. But my mother began singing, thankful for the morning and the sunshine. She said, “Isn’t God good?”

The pandemic feels like a prolonged power-outage. We have missed gathering for games, for parties, for worship. We miss the ability to just hang out with friends.

Consider looking for small moments of goodness today. Maybe you are thankful for the internet, for one more day of being at home with a sibling, or the ability to live in your pajamas. Find some goodness in your day and say it out loud. Then maybe call someone you know who feels alone. God has shown such goodness to us in Christ Jesus. There is plenty to share!

Pray

Dear God, help me see your goodness in the smallest of things and live today with a grateful heart. Amen.

Go

Stretch wide your arms to the world.

Exhale peace in the knowledge that the Creator of the universe is as close as your very next breath.
