Journey to the Cross

Be still.

Inhale a breath of love and know that God is very near.

You are saved by God’s grace because of your faith. This salvation is God’s gift. It’s not something you possessed. It’s not something you did that you can be proud of. Instead, we are God’s accomplishment, created in Christ Jesus to do good things. God planned for these good things to be the way that we live our lives.

Ephesians 2:8-10

Do you remember a moment when you were amazed by a starry sky or wondered at how tiny a little baby’s toes are? Maybe you’ve been awed by the sound of wind or the silence of snow. Those are God-moments for me. They are reminders that God is big enough to create the heavens and loving enough to save the world with the gift of a baby, born to poor parents.

Faith is something we feel and wonder about. It can’t be completely understood or explained, but believing in God’s grace can fuel goodness in our hearts. Not much in life is free, but the stars are. The silence of snow is. And God’s grace is freely offered. Look for something amazing today and whisper a prayer of gratitude.

Dear God, thank you for all there is to be amazed by in the world. Help me to see it with eyes of a child and to claim how big and beautiful your love is for me. Amen.

Stretch wide your arms to the world.

Exhale peace in the knowledge that the Creator of the universe is as close as your very next breath.
