Fear less.

Love more.

It starts with quiet moments like this

and then grows until all we do is guided by the love of God.

Where might God call you to be love today?

How might God’s love appear for you?

Listen

Dear friends, let’s love each other, because love is from God, and everyone who loves is born from God and knows God. The person who doesn’t love does not know God, because God is love. This is how the love of God is revealed to us: God has sent his only Son into the world so that we can live through him. This is love: it is not that we loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son as the sacrifice that deals with our sins.

Think

It seems easy to live in love. Really, it does. We see it on TV or in the movies or in our friend’s relationship that we envy so much. They’re SO happy and perfect.

Here’s the deal: the love that entertains us is often the result of paid actors. The love we perceive between others is often a mere glimpse of their love’s reality.

God’s love beckons us to live into the difficult side of love. It’s the side of love that helps a loved one back on their feet after a misstep. It’s the side of love that goes beyond to help another get ahead. It’s the kind of love that led God to send Jesus to us so we might know God’s love more fully, even if it meant separation and suffering.

So, maybe loving isn’t so easy after all.

Pray

God, I want to love like you, but it’s hard. Show me how to be fearless as I try to be your love here on this earth. Help me to press on and love more, especially in difficult moments. Amen.

Go

Guide me in your love today, O God.

Awaken my mind,

Strengthen my feet,

Empower my heart,

Enliven my spirit.

Lead me in the way of Jesus!

Amen.
