Ordinary Time

Pause

A day has 1440 minutes. How many of those minutes do you choose to spend with God?

Listen

There’s a season for everything and a time for every matter under the heavens: a time for crying and a time for laughing, a time for mourning and a time for dancing.

Ecclesiastes 3:1,4

Think

When King Solomon wrote Ecclesiastes 3, he understood that there would be different moments allotted for our lives. And for humanity there are different emotional states that we experience in those moments. For many of us, it is difficult to understand how to deal with the moments and emotions that we must face throughout our lives. The wisdom King Solomon had was special, and he wanted to share what he already knew.

We are under that same spirit of wisdom that only God can give us. In this wisdom, we can celebrate being in God’s presence even in the difficult and painful moments. God allows us to have a space to dance and celebrate being God’s beloved children. Look for moments when God helps you to manage your emotions!

Question to Ponder:

How often do you feel your emotions take over?

Pray

Dear God,
Help me to always keep in mind that you are in every moment of my life. May I celebrate being in your presence no matter what. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
