“Father, I want those you gave me to be with me where I am. Then they can see my glory, which you gave me because you loved me before the creation of the world.

“Righteous Father, even the world didn’t know you, but I’ve known you, and these believers know that you sent me. I’ve made your name known to them and will continue to make it known so that your love for me will be in them, and I myself will be in them.”

Think

From Jesus we learn so many things. In our verses for today, he teaches us to share. There is no selfishness in Jesus. What God has given him, he wishes to share with all people. Jesus could very well have made another decision, but he chose to bless us. His desire is that we are always in him and with him.

God’s plan from the beginning is good for humankind. God sent Jesus to be one of us so that we would be witnesses to all that God prepared for us to do and be. God does not want you to miss any details, but to see God’s work manifested that you may feel God’s love poured out upon your life. Jesus also teaches us that sharing is an active expression of God’s love. We share not only goods, but also faith, hope, time, and compassion, reflecting God’s generosity. Open your eyes to what God is doing!

Loving God, thank you for sending Jesus. Thank you for not abandoning the work of your hands but continuing to shape me to fulfill your purpose. Help me to keep my eyes focused on you and continue to witness to your work in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
