Following the Star

Pause

I want to be an instrument of your peace
I want to talk about your love
of what you did for me
How can I forget?
I want to help others
That’s my prayer

Here are my hands
Here is my voice
Here are my feet
I want to go
Use my life if I am useful to you
God

translated from Spanish, Daniel Calvetti in “Instrumento de tu Paz” (2009)

Listen

Let the righteous flourish throughout their lives, and let peace prosper until the moon is no more.

Bless the Lord God, the God of Israel—the only one who does wondrous things! Bless God’s glorious name forever; let his glory fill all the earth! Amen and Amen!

Psalm 72:7, 18-19

Think

I invite you today to shut your eyes and imagine a world filled with justice and peace. How does it look? How are the relationships between men and women; adults and children; elderly and young? How do people from different races, nationalities, and backgrounds treat each other? Do violence, hatred, and injustice have a place in this world you imagined?

Now, I invite you to make that dream happen, right here and right now. If the Kingdom of Heaven is close at hand, then reach out for it, pursue it, and incarnate it today – make it flesh – with your own words and actions.

Go, be the presence of God in your family and your community. Go. Flourish.

Elket Rodriguez

Pray

Dear God, grant me the strength and boldness to embody the values and virtues of Jesus.

I want to bear witness to the gospel in the midst of so much violence and injustice.

Your Kingdom come – here, now – on earth as it is in heaven.

Amen.

Go

Only in God do I find rest; my salvation comes from him.

Psalm 62:1
