Sharing our personal thoughts and prayers can seem intimidating and uncomfortable. But just as those in the early church had to overcome those fears, we do too. The more we practice opening our lives to others, the easier it may become.
We would all benefit if we became more transparent and more humble to ask for help or prayer.
Awe came upon everyone, because many wonders and signs were being done by the apostles. All who believed were together and had all things in common; they would sell their possessions and goods and distribute the proceeds to all, as any had need.
Acts 2:43-45
“Together, together, together everyone; Together, together, come on lets have some fun; Together, we’re there for each other every time; Together, together, come on let’s do this right.” You may remember those words from the song “We’re All in This Together” from the hit movie, “High School Musical.” They remind us of an important fact: We’re in this together!
The Christian life is not intended to be lived alone. Today’s Scripture describes the early believers as being together and sharing everything they had. In every way, they had each other’s back.
Instead of allowing yourself to be consumed with your own schedule and your own life, how could you commit this school year to living life together with other believers? How would life be different?

God, in spite of feeling at times that I am alone, I am not. Help me to understand that I can rely on my brothers and sisters in Christ. We are all in this faith journey together with you. Amen.
Prayer is more than just a quiet time with God. It is entering into a community (a life together) as we seek to experience and be the presence of Christ. How might you open your life to others as you seek to be the answer to their prayers?
