Journey to the Cross

Pause

Transform my fear, that I might proclaim courage.

Transform my doubt, that I might proclaim hope.

Transform my uncertainty, that I might proclaim faith.

Transform my sin, that I might proclaim forgiveness.

Listen

John, to the seven churches that are in Asia:

Grace and peace to you from the one who is and was and is coming, and from the seven spirits that are before God’s throne, and from Jesus Christ—the faithful witness, the firstborn from among the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth.

To the one who loves us and freed us from our sins by his blood, who made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father—to him be glory and power forever and always. Amen.

Look, he is coming with the clouds! Every eye will see him, including those who pierced him, and all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of him. This is so. Amen. “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “the one who is and was and is coming, the Almighty.”

Revelation 1:4-8

Think

God has so generously given to us. God’s grace abounds. God is love. God has forgiven us of our sins. God was in the beginning and is in the end. God is everywhere in between. God knows who we were, who we are, and who we will become. When we let God in we are filled with peace of mind, heart, and soul.

It’s our job to pass these things along to others. Sure, we make mistakes. That is part of being human. But God calls us in. Again and again, God reminds us of God’s unconditional love by giving us more and more grace.

In our every thought and action, we may ask: is this coming from a place of love and grace? We will never be able to give as much to others as God has given to us. But this doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try. God fills us until we are overflowing, so that we might help to fill others.

Pray

God of grace, I try my best to serve you in all that I do. You have freed me from sin and filled me with forgiveness. Help me to acknowledge this gift and pass it along to those around me. Be present with me so that I might know and share your grace and love more deeply. Amen.

Go

Proclaim God’s truth in all you do.

Go with courage.

Go with hope.

Go with faith.

Forgive and be forgiven.

All in Jesus’ name.
