Journey to the Cross

Pause

“Christ has died. Christ is risen. Christ will come again.”

The risen Christ desires deeper relationship with us all. Let us walk faithfully as disciples of Jesus Christ. Let us study God’s Word for our lives.

Listen

We announce to you what existed from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have seen and our hands handled, about the word of life. The life was revealed, and we have seen, and we testify and announce to you the eternal life that was with the Father and was revealed to us. What we have seen and heard, we also announce it to you so that you can have fellowship with us. Our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. We are writing these things so that our joy can be complete.

1 John 1:1-4

Think

At the beginning of his letter, the writer of 1 John says: “What we have seen and heard, we also announce it to you so that you can have fellowship with us… with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.”

To fellowship with Christ and the community of believers is one of the greatest gifts that we’ve been given. You are not alone. Christ calls us into his beloved community and allows us to know grace and peace. Often, we try to find a place where we belong, a place where we can fully be ourselves. Christ offers us a community of believers who declare the love of Jesus Christ and allow us to be our full authentic selves. This gift is for everyone who believes in Christ.

How will you fellowship with Christ today and declare Christ’s love to others?

Kathryn Threadgill

Pray

Christ, help me to find community and identity in you. Help me to know I belong to your fellowship of love. Make me a witness to the love of Christ in my community and in my life, so that all others may know that they belong, too. Amen.

Go

“Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.”

John 20:21

Where is Christ sending you today? How are you called to share Christ’s peace with others?
