Ordinary Time
Settle my soul.
Ease my anxious thoughts.
Calm my beating heart.
We’re praying this so that you can live lives that are worthy of the Lord and pleasing to him in every way: by producing fruit in every good work and growing in the knowledge of God; by being strengthened through his glorious might so that you endure everything and have patience; and by giving thanks with joy to the Father. He made it so you could take part in the inheritance, in light granted to God’s holy people. He rescued us from the control of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son he loves. He set us free through the Son and forgave our sins.
Colossians 1:10-14
Remember a time when you felt strong. Maybe you tackled a big project at school. Maybe you overcame a difficult trial at work. Maybe you were able to work through a challenging relationship with a friend or family member. Maybe you finally reached a goal that you set for yourself.
When you walk with the Lord, you build up spiritual muscles that will give you endurance during hard moments in life. When you walk with God, you experience patience and joy – even when life feels dark and overwhelming. This is strength that comes from God.
Today, walk with God in a new way by reading scripture or meditating in prayer and see how your strength grows as you go throughout your day.

God, my refuge, take hold of my hand today and guide me in your ways.
May I be made strong in your power so that I can endure the challenges of this day.
Amen.
Take courage.
Trust in the Lord.
God is your refuge.
