Back to School

Pause

Take a deep breath. As you inhale, breathe in God’s renewing hope, peace, and love.

As you exhale, release fear, pressure, doubt, and anxiety.

In this moment, remember: God is near, and you are not alone.

Listen

Don’t be conformed to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds so that you can figure out what God’s will is—what is good and pleasing and mature.

Romans 12:2

Think

The start of a new school year can feel like opening a blank notebook. New classes, new teachers, new expectations, new opportunities. Sometimes it’s exciting. Sometimes it’s overwhelming. And sometimes it feels like pressure to fit in, keep up, or become whoever everyone else expects you to be.

But Romans 12:2 reminds us that God calls us to something deeper than simply following the crowd. God invites us to live with renewed minds and renewed hearts. That means paying attention to what shapes us: our friendships, our priorities, our words, and even the way we speak to ourselves.

Renewal doesn’t mean becoming a completely different person overnight. It means allowing God to keep shaping you into the person you were created to be: compassionate, thoughtful, brave, and full of love.

Question to Ponder:

What mindset do you want to carry with you as you begin this new school year?

Pray

God, renew my mind as I begin this new school year. Help me resist pressure that pulls me away from kindness, courage, and love. Shape me into the person you created me to be. Amen.

Go

Go into this day renewed in mind, heart, and spirit.

May you notice God’s presence in quiet moments, trust God through life’s storms, and journey with courage, compassion, and peace.

And may you remember that wherever you go, you are never alone.
