The creator of heaven and earth knows you and wants to show care for your life every day.

Reflection on Psalm 27:4

Listen

Your faithful love is priceless, God! Humanity finds refuge in the shadow of your wings. They feast on the bounty of your house; you let them drink from your river of pure joy. Within you is the spring of life. In your light, we see light.

Psalm 36:7-9

Think

What is your safe place? I think we all like to feel safe. Even those who enjoy extreme sports take measures to ensure a certain degree of safety. This is something characteristic of human beings: we always look for security in something or someone. The psalmist reminds us that, as children of God, we must be clear that the only truly safe place for our needy souls is God’s presence.

God’s presence is the space that changes the meaning, proportion, and perspective of everything we do. We feel safe because God’s presence is love. It is there that we find protection, satisfaction, and life. God invites us, out of love, to allow God’s light to illuminate our lives, so that we may find full security in God.
