As you go, make this announcement: “The kingdom of heaven has come near.” Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those with skin diseases, and throw out demons. You received without having to pay. Therefore, give without demanding payment.

Jesus’ announcements have power. Sick healed, dead raised, diseases cleansed, and demons gone. Jesus’ kingdom is showing up right here, right now, and the world is changing.

I’ve been given gifts from others, but I often fail to share in the same way. People have to earn my love and trust and show some kind of worthiness for me to be their friend, even as I’m given love and trust freely. It’s hard to be like Jesus, giving grace, mercy, and love freely.

I heard a man named Nick Vujicic speak recently. He was born with tetra-amelia syndrome, which means he has no arms and legs. He travels the country giving inspirational talks, telling about his faith in Jesus. Nick doesn’t focus on what he doesn’t have, but on what he has and is able to give. He sees the kingdom of God changing the world.

Jesus, thank you for showing up and changing the world today. When I want to demand payment from others for something, help me to give freely. Amen.
