God can.

God will.

God does.

Listen

When theĀ Lord changed Zionā€™s circumstances for the better, it was like we had been dreaming. Our mouths were suddenly filled with laughter; our tongues were filled with joyful shouts. It was even said, at that time, among the nations, ā€œTheĀ Lord has done great things for them!ā€ Yes, theĀ Lord has done great things for us, and we are overjoyed.

Psalm 126:1-3

Think

Have you found yourself smiling while recalling a good memory? I clearly remember the day my daughter had emergency surgery because she was going through severe appendix pain. She was very young, and we were very worried. As she went into surgery, I prayed for her, and I can’t deny that the uncertainty of what was happening tried to break me. Her surgery was a success, thankfully. When she left from surgery, she told me, ā€œI’m hungry,ā€ which caused laughter in those of us who were with her.

When I remember how God changed pain into joy, a smile comes to my lips, a smile that is a sign of celebration. This psalm narrates what the result is when we recognize the power of God that transforms the situations we are going through. The result will be that our life will be filled with evident joy. Your smile and your story remind others that God has power.

Glory to God, who is able to do far beyond all that we could ask or imagine by his power at work within us.
