Ordinary Time
Sometimes we forget how great God’s love is for us.
May you stop and remember that God loves you, God calls you, God counts on you, and you can count on God.
“Ah, Lord God,” I said, “I don’t know how to speak because I’m only a child.” The Lord responded, “Don’t say, ‘I’m only a child.’ Where I send you, you must go; what I tell you, you must say. Don’t be afraid of them, because I’m with you to rescue you,” declares the Lord.
Jeremiah 1:6-8
When we receive a new assignment, we usually begin to identify the limitations we have. The prophet’s immediate response to God’s summons was to highlight his limitations. The reality is that we all have limitations, but the moment God chooses you for a purpose, it is because God can see in you what even you cannot identify. God is your creator and knows everything about you. Therefore, rather than limitations, God sees possibilities in you.
History shows us that God has always supported those God calls, and you will be no exception. Many times, what we call limitations are actually fears. Fear of failure, fear of rejection, or fear of change. But God’s word reminds us that perfect love casts out fear.

Question to Ponder:
What limits you from responding to God’s call?
God, thank you for choosing me. Do not allow fear to limit me. My desire is to trust you and so I ask you to remove all fear from me and help me to recognize the possibilities you see in me. Amen.
Walk in faith! When you don’t know which way to go, God’s love and God’s word will show you the way you should walk.
