Following the Star
What does it mean for me to keep hope alive in a world that sometimes seems asleep to the presence of God?
Pray that Jerusalem has peace: “Let those who love you have rest. Let there be peace on your walls; let there be rest on your fortifications.” For the sake of my family and friends, I say, “Peace be with you, Jerusalem.” For the sake of the Lord our God’s house I will pray for your good.
Psalm 122:6-9
True hope arises when there is a deep longing for peace, a peace that means not only the absence of conflict, but also the presence of justice, harmony, and well-being for all. The psalmist prays not only for the tranquility of his city, but also for the well-being of its inhabitants and those he loves. Similarly, our faith calls us to work for a peace that builds relationships, reconciles wounded hearts, and heals what seems broken.
Just as Jesus speaks that his peace surpasses our understanding, the exercise of peace must surpass our differences. When we pray sincere prayers for the peace of others, we sow seeds of hope both in our own hearts and in the world around us. Every prayer is an act of love that can transform realities.

Question to Ponder:
How can you share peace in your context today?
God of peace, make my heart fertile ground for hope. Teach me to pray and work for the peace of my community, so that in every gesture of love and justice your kingdom may be reflected. Amen.
Go and live awake in hope!
