Ordinary Time
Let’s share a breath prayer. Three beats on the inhale, thinking, “God is holy.”
Hold one beat, thinking, “And.”
Exhale for three beats, thinking, “I am holy.”
Try it three times! “God is holy – and – I am holy.”
Joshua, Nun’s son, was filled with wisdom because Moses had placed his hands on him. So the Israelites listened to Joshua, and they did exactly what the Lord commanded Moses.
No prophet like Moses has yet emerged in Israel; Moses knew the Lord face-to-face! That’s not even to mention all those signs and wonders that the Lord sent Moses to do in Egypt—to Pharaoh, to all his servants, and to his entire land—as well as all the extraordinary power that Moses displayed before Israel’s own eyes!
Deuteronomy 34:9-12
How often do we remember to give God thanks for the spiritual leaders in our lives? Was your first teacher a parent or a guardian? Do you have a pastor who loves you and preaches good news on Sunday? Have you ever gone to Sunday School or Vacation Bible School?
In whatever ways you have been taught about Jesus, someone is responsible for sharing God’s love with you. Today, I am curious if you could become a spiritual leader in the life of a friend or classmate. Could it be that God wants to use you to introduce someone to Jesus? I have heard it said, your life may be the only Bible someone else is reading. What are people learning by your example?

Question to Ponder:
Who was the first person to teach you about Jesus?
Loving God, help me be a compassionate person. Help me share my love for you with others. May my life inspire someone to get to know you. Amen.
As you go about your day, intentionally seek opportunities to be more like Jesus. How can you increase your love, care, or gentleness toward others? Make it your goal to practice one random act of kindness today.
