God made us for relationship, that's for sure. But being in relationship is sometimes quite a challenge; that's for sure too!

You are here now because of your relationship with God. May these moments together with your Creator give you a greater understanding of how to live out your earthly relationships as well.

Listen

The heavens are telling the glory of God; and the firmament proclaims his handiwork. Day to day pours forth speech, and night to night declares knowledge. There is no speech, nor are there words; their voice is not heard; yet their voice goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In the heavens he has set a tent for the sun, which comes out like a bridegroom from his wedding canopy, and like a strong man runs its course with joy. Its rising is from the end of the heavens, and its circuit to the end of them; and nothing is hid from its heat. The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul; the decrees of the Lord are sure, making wise the simple; the precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is clear, enlightening the eyes; the fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever; the ordinances of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey, and drippings of the honeycomb....Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.

Psalm 19:1-10, 14

Think

One of the most overlooked aspects of creation is hanging out right above our heads. The sky. The wild blue yonder. Space. How many times a day do you stop to just look up and take in the massiveness of the sky? It might not often make sounds, but it will stop you in your tracks with a beautiful sunset.

Isn’t the sky a great representation of how we should be as the Body of Christ? Today’s psalm says of the sky that “There is no speech…yet their voice goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world.” As followers of Christ, shouldn’t our actions and outwardly endeavors be what people notice about us, and not our voices? Shouldn’t our actions speak louder for Christ than our words? Our magnitude as the Kingdom of God on earth should stretch like the sky. Our portrayal of the love that we know should fall on all that we meet like the rays of the sun, and our actions nurture all like rain.

God, remind me today to stop and admire the sky. Your creation is beautiful, and I am a part of it. Help me to expand your Kingdom today through my actions. Amen.

Children of God, lift hearts to one another;
Where pity dwells, the peace of God is there;
To worship rightly is to love each other,
Each smile a hymn, each kindly deed a prayer.
