Ordinary Time
The creator of heaven and earth knows you and wants to show care for your life every day.
Reflection on Psalm 27:4
The headwaiter called the groom and said, “Everyone serves the good wine first. They bring out the second-rate wine only when the guests are drinking freely. You kept the good wine until now.” This was the first miraculous sign that Jesus did in Cana of Galilee. He revealed his glory, and his disciples believed in him.
John 2:9b-11
Jesus does not think as we think. He sees what we fail to see and, therefore, defies our logic to glorify himself as the Messiah. In John 2:9-11, Jesus shows his majesty by transforming water into the best wine of the wedding feast, breaking with the expectations and traditions of his time. Later, in John 11:7-9, Jesus challenges the disciples’ way of thinking just before performing an incredible miracle: the raising of Lazarus.
Remember, the power of Jesus does not depend on those around him or the magnitude of the problem we need to solve. His power is incalculable and can work from the simplest matter to the most complex, defying our logic. So much so that he himself overcame death on the third day to give us salvation and eternal life, the greatest miracle we continue to experience today.
