Ordinary Time
Every night I lie in bed
The brightest colors fill my head
A million dreams are keeping me awake
I think of what the world could be
A vision of the one I see
A million dreams is all itās gonna take
Oh a million dreams for the world weāre gonna make
from āA Million Dreamsā in The Greatest Showman (2017)
They will build houses and live in them; they will plant vineyards and eat their fruit. They wonāt build for others to live in, nor plant for others to eat. Like the days of a tree will be the days of my people; my chosen will make full use of their handiwork. They wonāt labor in vain, nor bear children to a world of horrors, because they will be people blessed by the Lord, they along with their descendants.
Isaiah 65:21-23
āLike the days of a tree will be the days of my peopleā¦ā For all the leaves and branches we see on trees, the soaring heights where the birds fly up to land, thereās so much we donāt see. The roots of trees travel far underground, holding the trees in place, taking in nutrients, helping the trees grow.
Some trees grow tall and strong over the years, reaching so high, we can barely see their tops. They weather the changing seasons over and over again. Their leaves change color, fall to the ground, and grow back again. Like trees, we have strong roots. We are rooted and held in Godās strong and steady love. Godās love helps us grow and holds us in place, no matter what is going on around us.
We can trust Godās love to hold onto us through every season of our lives ā from the best days to the worst and every day in between. Now and always.
Laura Edgar
God, thank you that your love never lets me go.
You hold me close on my best days and my worst.
Remind me this day that I can trust your constant love.
Amen.
The world is not as it should be, not as it could be, not as it will be.
Trust Godās dreams for you and the world around you.
Dream with God of what could beā¦
