Ordinary Time

Pause

Let us pay attention to what we can see and what we cannot see; what we can feel and touch, what we can hear and smell. God manifests in many different ways in our lives.

Listen

Give thanks to the Lord with the lyre! Sing praises to him with the ten-stringed harp! Sing to him a new song! Play your best with joyful shouts! Because the Lord’s word is right, his every act is done in good faith. He loves righteousness and justice; the Lord’s faithful love fills the whole earth.

Psalm 33:2-5

Think

Every day is a gift from God. We should be grateful for Gods faithfulness, love, and greatness. We usually do not express it because we take it lightly. God is pleased when we celebrate God’s greatness.

There are so many ways to give thanks for all that God gives us. When we sing, when we serve, when we share God’s word. When we express in action what we feel, what we want, and what we expect from God, it is a way to feel closer to God’s presence.

The hymn “Let Us Give Thanks to the Lord” is a hymn that we can sing not only in special moments but also in our daily lives. It says, “For gifts small and great, we offer our praise. For life and for love, our worship we raise.” This hymn expresses how even in the moments that we consider simple in our lives, God manifests in unexpected ways. Giving thanks to God in various ways, including music, is expressing our love for God.
