Ordinary Time

Pause

God, no matter what comes my way today, opportunities or challenges, you are with me.

Remind me that your grace is enough for me, especially when I’m feeling low.

Your grace sustains me.

Amen.

Listen

Therefore, I’m all right with weaknesses, insults, disasters, harassments, and stressful situations for the sake of Christ, because when I’m weak, then I’m strong.

2 Corinthians 12:10

Think

Has anyone ever told you, “Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me”? Well, I don’t agree. Words do hurt. What has someone said to you that was hurtful? How did it make you feel?

Hurtful words can make us feel unlovable. We know that God loves us each so much. Jesus showed us this. When we walk with Christ, our goal is to let go of those hurtful words. We try to remember that God created us and calls us worthy of love.

Knowing God’s love won’t stop bad things from happening around us – we’ll encounter weaknesses, insults, disasters, harassments, and stressful situations. Harsh words still hurt even as Christ followers. But we work each day to remember God’s love and grace. God’s love is enough.

Pray

God, lots of things can hurt – words, situations, people, and more. Remind me of your great love. Help me remember that I am worthy of being loved and that your love is enough. Amen.

Remember:

God’s strength is enough.

God’s peace is enough.

God’s love is enough.

God’s grace is enough.

You are enough.
