Journey to the Cross

Pause

If you can dream it, you can create it with God’s help. “Glory to God, who is able to do far beyond all that we could ask or imagine by his power at work within us.”

Ephesians 3:20

Listen

The beasts of the field, the jackals and ostriches, will honor me, because I have put water in the desert and streams in the wilderness to give water to my people, my chosen ones, this people whom I formed for myself, who will recount my praise.

Isaiah 43:20-21

Think

Our passage for today reminds us that although we may be going through a wilderness in our lives, God has a plan of provision and restoration. God makes this miracle possible not only for our personal benefit, but also to fulfill the purpose of bearing witness to the world of God’s goodness and faithfulness.

God has formed us for a purpose and this purpose is that our lives glorify God’s name. Believing this truth reminds us that the pain in our lives has a deep purpose, which goes beyond our immediate circumstances. If you ever feel that something in your life has dried up or that there is no longer any possibility of improvement, this passage reminds you that God has the power to make the impossible possible. God has a plan to renew you!

Question to Ponder:

What are those dry areas or areas where you feel that pain has robbed you of hope?

Pray

Loving God,

I give you my pain, trusting that everything has a divine purpose. Renew my hope and give me the faith to see your hand at work in the midst of difficulties. Right now I’m struggling with…

I ask that my desert become a testimony of your love and faithfulness. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
