Back to School

Pause

Lean in. God is renewing, shaping, and transforming you even now.

Listen

Don’t be conformed to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds so that you can figure out what God’s will is—what is good and pleasing and mature.

Romans 12:2

Think

The start of a new school year often comes with pressure to upgrade ourselves—new clothes, new classes, new friends, maybe even a new image. It’s easy to think, “This is the year I will become a better version of myself.” But Romans 12:2 points us toward something deeper than a personal rebrand.

A rebrand is about changing how others see us. Transformation is about God changing us from the inside out. Romans 12:2 says that transformation happens when God renews our minds, helping us see ourselves, others, and our circumstances through God’s perspective instead of the world’s.

When God renews our minds, we stop trying to prove we’re enough and begin trusting that we are already loved by God. We become less focused on fitting in and more focused on becoming who God created us to be. This year, the goal isn’t a new us—it’s a renewed us.

Question to Ponder:

What is one way you may be tempted to “rebrand yourself this year, and where might God be inviting you to focus on transformation instead?

Pray

Wonderful Creator, thank you for loving me exactly as I am. Help me worry less about what others think and trust that you are working in my life. Renew my mind, transform my heart, and help me become more fully the person you created me to be. Amen.

Go

God has already given you what you need. Go forth renewed and ready to transform the world through God’s love.
