Ordinary Time
Christ loves us, has freed us from our sins by shedding his blood, and has made us a kingdom.
He has made us priests in the service of God.
From Revelation 1:5-6
Lord, the floods have raised up—the floods have raised up their voices; the floods raise up a roar! But mightier than the sound of much water, mightier than the sea’s waves, mighty on high is the Lord! Your laws are so faithful. Holiness decorates your house, Lord, for all time.
Psalm 93:3-5
On a daily basis, we probably receive hundreds of notifications on our smartphones. We live our lives between alerts that seek to get our attention, constant sounds or buzzes. We could say that access to technology predisposes us to react and social networks invite us to react to everything. Living amidst alerts can keep us distracted. We are bombarded by strategic alerts that keep us entertained. Imagine the effect everything we consume digitally has on our spiritual compass.
Our spiritual growth and maturity require staying focused on the call to holiness from our creator. God, who is thrice holy, calls you to consecrate yourself to remain alert. The goal of holiness in our lives is to find ourselves aligned to God’s calling, will, and purpose, finding full satisfaction in God reigning in our lives. God is unique and there is no other like God! The Spirit guides us in the process of aligning ourselves with holy encounters, so we can be alert and discern God’s voice constantly.

Question to Ponder:
What prevents you from being alert today to discern God’s will?
Holy Spirit, trouble me and guide me. Speak to me and show me your will. I long to be obedient, responding to your call to me.
Amen.
Radiate light and share the truth.
Live with dignity and attain its fullness.
Do not be conformed, answer God’s call.
You are a child of the King of kings!
