Ordinary Time
Christ loves us, has freed us from our sins by shedding his blood, and has made us a kingdom.
He has made us priests in the service of God.
From Revelation 1:5-6
The Lord rules! He is robed in majesty—the Lord is robed, clothed with strength. Yes, he set the world firmly in place; it won’t be shaken. Your throne is set firm for a very long time. You are eternal!
Psalm 93:1-2
There is nothing that makes me feel more insecure than needing to set an alarm because I am such a bad early riser. Most of the time I set multiple alarms to “make sure” I wake up on time. I don’t know if it has happened to you, but there is no worse feeling than waking up and realizing you are already late. My entire morning plan is left behind and I end up just surviving my day. I start the day by dressing myself in insecurities and surround myself with endless possible consequences.
Our plans are temporary and are conditioned to our reality. Being children of an eternal king gives us a safe place where we can rest. Placing our trust in the Lord means not needing additional plans, and it fills us with security to know that God is in control. God’s reign is eternal, and God’s throne stands firm. Trusting in God is our daily alarm to live in fullness, affirming God’s glory and power in our lives. Every alarm requires action!
