Ordinary Time
When I recognize who God is, I worship with joy, my heart is filled with gratitude, and I trust that God’s presence is with me every day.
Moses said to the Lord, “Look, you’ve been telling me, ‘Lead these people forward.’ But you haven’t told me whom you will send with me. Yet you’ve assured me, ‘I know you by name and think highly of you.’ Now if you do think highly of me, show me your ways so that I may know you and so that you may really approve of me. Remember too that this nation is your people.”
The Lord replied, “I’ll go myself, and I’ll help you.”
Exodus 33:12–14
Knowing that God is with you changes everything. As the older brother, I was responsible for walking ahead, holding my brother’s hand, to turn on the light in the room at night. It was the same hallway, the same distance I used to walk when I was his age, but the darkness and uncertainty made all the difference for him. Apparently, walking with me gave him confidence.
As I read our scripture for today, I remembered this experience, and I’m sure you’ve experienced something similar. Moses doesn’t know what lies ahead, but he chooses to trust because God is with him. Likewise, you may experience moments of uncertainty, darkness, or fear this week. Never forget, despite all of that, God is present. God chose you and has a purpose for you. So you can move forward with the assurance that God is with you—and that changes everything.

Question to Ponder:
When has someone been there with and for you?
God, thank you because I know you have chosen me. Help me to trust that you are with me even in the hardest times. Amen.
Make sure that everything you do, everything you say, and everything you think honors God and reflects God’s glory.
