Ordinary Time
Take a deep breath and place all your wounds in God’s hands. Trust in the power of the love that God places within you—it is enough to help you heal.
The Lord is my strength and my power; he has become my salvation. This is my God, whom I will praise, the God of my ancestors, whom I will acclaim.
Who is like you among the gods, Lord? Who is like you, foremost in holiness, worthy of highest praise, doing awesome deeds?
Exodus 15:2-11
God’s greatness is not limited to the power to do everything. God’s greatness is also manifested in the confidence and faith God gives us, which are passed down through the ages.
The Bible describes how God’s deeds, divine protection, and greatness were passed down through the family by sitting together to listen to the works and miracles of a God who transformed their lives from a communal, familial, and holistic perspective. For them, their God was the center of life itself, of the actions of the entire family, and of the salvation of an entire people.
Jesus is our model for drawing near to God in worship. In the stories we read about him in scripture, he is always guided by love and obedience. Our praise of God involves not only the songs we sing in church but also how we treat others, how we strive to improve as human beings, and the impact we want to have on the community. Recognizing that God is the God of my life is not something distant; rather, it means seeing God in the most intimate and vulnerable parts of myself.

Question to Ponder:
What simple things do you praise God for today?
God, give me a grateful heart to honor you, acknowledge you, and bless you—with my lips, my life, and all that I am. In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
Reflect on your own life: What role do you play? You’re invited to forgive and be forgiven.
