Ordinary Time

Pause

When I recognize who God is, I worship with joy, my heart is filled with gratitude, and I trust that God’s presence is with me every day.

Listen

The Lord rules—the nations shake! He sits enthroned on the winged heavenly creatures—the earth quakes!

Magnify the Lord our God! Bow low at his holy mountain because the Lord our God is holy!

Psalm 99:1, 9

Think

God is faithful, which means God always keeps promises. Throughout scripture, we see numerous examples of men and women who experienced God’s faithfulness. The psalmist acknowledges God’s faithfulness to Israel across different generations. But if you take a moment to reflect on your own life—or even just this past week—and how you have experienced God’s faithfulness, you’ll discover that, as another psalm says, “Your faithfulness continues to pursue me.”

Historically, kings pursued their enemies or those they wished to destroy. But God constantly pursues us to bless us and to show faithfulness in our lives. Imagine for a moment coming face to face with God—how would you react? Praising, giving thanks, and acknowledging that God alone deserves all glory are just a few ways to respond.
