Ordinary Time
I take a deep breath and pause in God’s presence. I set aside my own haste and open my heart to let God’s truth guide me.
It’s not that I have already reached this goal or have already been perfected, but I pursue it, so that I may grab hold of it because Christ grabbed hold of me for just this purpose. Brothers and sisters, I myself don’t think I’ve reached it, but I do this one thing: I forget about the things behind me and reach out for the things ahead of me. The goal I pursue is the prize of God’s upward call in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 3:12–14
When we explore the commandments and the wisdom of scripture, may we see them not as a burden of perfection, but as a path to restoration. In our scripture for today, Paul reminds us of the beauty of faith: being a believer doesn’t mean having all of life figured out or being flawless, but rather taking the first step.
The gospel frees us from the weight of the past, from the guilt that holds us back, and from the perfectionism that paralyzes us. God has already embraced us first in Christ; therefore, our goal is not to earn God’s favor, but to respond to God’s love with every step we take. To look ahead is to trust that divine grace renews our strength each morning, inviting us to journey lightly, with hope, and with our eyes fixed on the love that transforms us.

Question to Ponder:
Where do you want your focus to be today?
God of hope, thank you for your grace that frees me from the pressure to be perfect. Today I place in your hands those things from the past that I find hard to let go of, especially…
Give me the courage to persevere on this journey and move forward with joy toward the purpose to which you call me in Jesus. Amen.
Go in peace. Go with the certainty that God guides your steps, restores your life, and renews your hope. Be a reflection of God’s love, light, and grace to everyone you meet along the way. Amen.
