Ordinary Time
Breathe in and say: I have you, God.
Breathe out and say: I have everything.
He ordered the crowds to sit down on the grass. He took the five loaves of bread and the two fish, looked up to heaven, blessed them and broke the loaves apart and gave them to his disciples. Then the disciples gave them to the crowds. Everyone ate until they were full, and they filled twelve baskets with the leftovers. About five thousand men plus women and children had eaten.
Matthew 14:19–21
Jesus took what his disciples had brought: five loaves of bread and two fish for a crowd that was already hungry. The abundance of God’s kingdom became evident. Much came from the little they had, and the disciples kept passing it out. Basket after basket, it seemed never-ending. The table was set for more than five thousand people. There was plenty of food to serve, eat, and enjoy until everyone was full. There were even leftovers.
What a vision of God’s kingdom!
God’s bountiful table, set against an unexpected backdrop, reminds us that God’s kingdom has enough to satisfy, to fill us up, and to share. And yes, there is plenty to go around. God’s blessing lies in abundant generosity. It pours out as provision for those who, by grace, are seated at the table. It is not merely about resources, but about life, flourishing, and blessing rooted in the presence of God, who serves at the table among us. Come, sit at the table of God’s generosity and invite others: there is plenty here.

Question to Ponder:
What is keeping me from enjoying the table that God has set for me?
God, you are a generous host. Thank you for giving us your presence, love, provision, and fulfillment in abundance! Help me to enjoy the abundance of your kingdom and to love with that same generosity. Amen.
May your life be a reflection of God’s kingdom:
May others see in you what a life under the blessing of God’s presence and provision looks like.
Love, respond, and serve from the abundance of Jesus.
