Ordinary Time

Pause

Stop for a moment. Take a deep breath. God’s Spirit is closer than you imagine, moving in your life even now. Open your heart to listen.

Listen

Christ is just like the human body—a body is a unit and has many parts; and all the parts of the body are one body, even though there are many. We were all baptized by one Spirit into one body, whether Jew or Greek, or slave or free, and we all were given one Spirit to drink.

1 Corinthians 12:12-13

Think

There are times when we feel like we don’t fit in. Like we are different in a way that separates us from others. At school, at church, even at home, that feeling can be heavy. But Paul offers us another image: we are one body. Not because we are the same, but precisely because we are different. Each person brings something unique, and together we form something complete.

God’s Spirit does not erase our differences; it unites them. It connects us beyond what divides us: language, culture, personality, history. In God, no one is left out; we are all included. Being part of the body means your presence matters. Your voice counts. Your story has a place. And it also means we need others. No one lives the faith alone. The Spirit gathers us, sustains us, and sends us out together. Maybe today is a good day to remember that you belong, too.

Question to Ponder:

When have you felt part of something bigger than yourself?

Pray

God, remind me that I belong. Help me to see the value of other people and to journey alongside them. Unite us in your love. Amen.

Go

Go out into the world with care and courage. God’s Spirit goes with you, guiding your steps and working through your life to bring love, justice, and hope.
