Ordinary Time
“Discernment is listening to the gentle voice of Love.”
– Henri Nouwen
This is so that the next generation and children not yet born will know these things, and so they can rise up and tell their children to put their hope in God—never forgetting God’s deeds, but keeping God’s commandments.
Psalm 78:6-7
Wisdom transforms us into people whose choices point toward hope.
The psalmist imagines a chain of people stretching across generations: someone remembers what God has done, tells the story, and someone not even born yet learns where to place their trust.
Most of us will never know the full impact of the choices we make. A kindness may be remembered long after we’ve forgotten it. A bold word can give someone else permission to be brave. The way we love, forgive, tell the truth, repair what we’ve broken, and begin again can travel farther than we’d ever imagine.
Wisdom reminds us that our lives are always pointing somewhere.
May our choices point toward a God of love. May our stories point toward grace. And may the lives we live help someone else learn to hope.

Question to Ponder:
If someone learned what matters by watching the choices you make, what would you hope your life teaches them?
God of wisdom, help me notice your voice, trust your love, and choose the path that leads to life. Amen.
Wisdom grows every time we pause, listen, and choose love.
