Ordinary Time

Pause

When I recognize who God is, I worship with joy, my heart is filled with gratitude, and I trust that God’s presence is with me every day.

Listen

We always thank God for all of you when we mention you constantly in our prayers. This is because we remember your work that comes from faith, your effort that comes from love, and your perseverance that comes from hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the presence of our God and Father.

1 Thessalonians 1:2–3

Think

One of the best things I’ve ever heard is that someone is praying for me. Has anyone ever told you that? The fact that someone is constantly praying for me shows that they care about my well-being, because they’re speaking to none other than Almighty God. Now, imagine how the Thessalonians felt when they heard that people were actively praying for them. The same thing can happen when you pray for others.

You may have been praying for your family or friends for some time, but have you ever wondered if they know it? Sometimes we’re afraid to mention it, because we don’t want to sound arrogant or “too spiritual.” However, letting them know you’re praying for them can make a difference in their lives as you show your care through prayer. In fact, that might be the encouragement they’ve been waiting for.

Question to Ponder:

Who are you praying for this week, and how can you let them know?

Pray

God, thank you for all those who pray for me constantly. Help me, too, to pray for others and let them know that you have the power to transform their circumstances. Amen.

Go

Make sure that everything you do, everything you say, and everything you think honors God and reflects God’s glory.
