Ordinary Time
In love, we discover that God is always present. When love dwells in your heart, the image of God becomes visible in you.
Come close and listen, all you who honor God; I will tell you what God has done for me: My mouth cried out to God with praise on my tongue.
Psalm 66:16-17
When something nice happens to us, we want to talk about it: an achievement, a piece of news, a special experience. Some people are not very interested, but others rejoice with us and celebrate what we share. Something similar happens with our experience with God. When we feel God’s care, love, or comfort, the desire to tell about it is born in us. Not everyone will listen, because the noise of the world can distract them. But sharing what God is doing in our lives is a way of recognizing that God is present with us.
The psalmist invites us to tell what God has done. To speak of God is not just to teach; it is to testify. We testify that God is with us when everything is going well, but also when something is wrong. God is with you, and God is with everyone. When you share your story, you remember that God abides with you and that God’s presence does not stay in a temple, but goes with you everywhere.

Question to Ponder:
What beautiful things has God done in your life that you can share with others?
God, open my eyes and my heart to recognize and be grateful for all that you do for me. Amen.
Set aside a few minutes to be in silence before God. Then go and demonstrate God’s presence with a concrete gesture of kindness.
