Ordinary Time

Pause

When I recognize who God is, I worship with joy, my heart is filled with gratitude, and I trust that God’s presence is with me every day.

Listen

Sing to the Lord a new song! Sing to the Lord, all the earth! Sing to the Lord! Bless his name! Share the news of his saving work every single day! Declare God’s glory among the nations; declare his wondrous works among all people.

Psalm 96:1–3

Think

When something good happens to us, we tend to share it with others. I remember when a store was offering free fruit smoothies if you bought one and brought a friend. When I found out, I didn’t hesitate to tell my friends. Very soon, the store was filled with more and more people coming in with their friends to take advantage of the deal. The news spread quickly, since everyone wanted others to enjoy that benefit.

If we stop to think for a moment, God has done great things in our lives, starting with salvation. It is a gift from God to us. The question we must ask ourselves is this: if you and I enjoy salvation, why don’t we share that good news with others? We tend to keep to ourselves what God has done. But we can make a difference when sharing our testimony becomes second nature.
