Ordinary Time
There are many voices vying for your attention. Pause, breathe, and listen. God is present. Perhaps following Jesus begins here: making room to recognize God’s voice and paying attention to what is happening around you.
I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise will always be in my mouth. I praise the Lord—let the suffering listen and rejoice. Magnify the Lord with me! Together let us lift his name up high!
Psalm 34:1–3
When I was nineteen, I began to notice a very quiet teenage girl. She didn’t seem to fit in with the group, but I saw intelligence and a lot of potential in her. Perhaps I could relate to her because I, too, knew the struggle of feeling invisible. One day I extended a simple invitation to her: “Let’s read the gospel of John together.” Every week I would go to her house. We would read, write down what stood out to us, and talk. There was no stage or microphone. It was just the two of us making space to discover Jesus.
Over time, I watched that young woman grow into a leader. Psalm 34 invites us to praise God together. An experience with God that begins on a personal level can also become an invitation to others. Sharing our faith doesn’t always require a grand speech. Sometimes it begins when we see someone, approach them, and say, “Come on, let’s do this together.”

Question to Ponder:
Is there someone close to you whom you could invite to journey with you in faith?
God, thank you for the people who have walked alongside me. Help me to see whom I can walk with and to simply share what I discover about you. Amen.
Now go back to your day. Look closely. Listen intently. Show your love through your actions. Follow Jesus in your daily life, remembering that you are not alone and that your life, too, can help someone else find their way.
