Ordinary Time

Pause

On your mark: You’re here. You showed up. That matters.

Get Set: Pause. Breathe. Let your heart catch up.

Be still for a moment. Let the Spirit move.

And listen for God’s truth.

Listen

Place these words I’m speaking on your heart and in your very being. Tie them on your hand as a sign. They should be on your forehead as a symbol. Teach them to your children, by talking about them when you are sitting around your house and when you are out and about, when you are lying down and when you are getting up. Write them on your house’s doorframes and on your city’s gates. Do all that so your days and your children’s days on the fertile land the Lord swore to give to your ancestors are many—indeed, as many as the number of days that the sky’s been over the earth!

Deuteronomy 11:18-21

Think

Sometimes I treat my hand like a sticky note, writing little reminders so I don’t forget things. Bring this. Do that. Don’t miss it.

Because life moves fast. Even the good stuff can feel like a blur. And somewhere in the middle of it all, it’s easy to forget what actually matters.

In Deuteronomy, God gives a simple, real-life reminder: keep these words close. Write them down. Talk about them. Put them where you’ll see them—on your hands, in your space, in your everyday life. Not to make things complicated. Just to help you remember. Because what you come back to shapes you. It shapes your heart and your soul.

So start small. A verse on your phone. A phrase you hold onto when you’re stressed. A real conversation with someone you trust.

These little reminders don’t seem like much, but they add up. They keep bringing you back to what’s true. Back to God’s love. Back to what holds. You don’t have to go far to find it. Even in the middle of your busy, everyday life, God is already there.

Question to Ponder:

What’s one phrase, verse, or truth you want to hold onto this week?

Pray

God, in the middle of busy days, help me not forget you. Bring your truth back to my mind when I feel distracted or overwhelmed. Let your words stay close to me and shape how I think, speak, and live. Remind me that you are always with me—right here, even now. Amen.

Go

Go. You’re ready.

Start practicing today. Look for one simple way to build your life on God.

Start small. Pay attention. Notice where God is already at work.

God is with you, always.

And even the smallest step of faith can begin to grow something strong.
